Description
Ammonium chloride is an inorganic compound with the formula NH4Cl and a white crystalline salt that is highly soluble in water. Solutions of ammonium chloride are mildly acidic. Ammonium chloride is obtained as a by-product in different chemical processes, particularly from the Solvay process for the production of sodium carbonate from sodium chloride, ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water.
