Description

Hydrogen chloride in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is used as a non-aqueous acid source in chemical and pharmaceutical processes. It is mainly applied for amine salt formation, acid-catalyzed reactions, deprotection, and controlled crystallization, where the presence of water must be avoided to prevent hydrolysis or side reactions.
